19 Short Bible Verses for the Commander/Leader

As a Squadron Commander I began collecting Bible verses to help in both enlightening and challenging times and I continue to turn to these often.  No matter the season of life–reviewing these versus creates a sense of peace, understanding, and presence from the Lord.  Just thought I’d share… please let me know of others…

(Matt 6:34) Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.

(Philippians 4:6-7) Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.

(Matt 11:28-30) “Come to me, Bill when you are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.  Take my yoke upon you Bill and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your soul.  For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.”

(Matt 5:16) In the same way, let your light shine before men, that they may see your good deeds and praise your Father in heaven.

(Jos 1:9) Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be terrified; do not be discouraged, for the LORD your God will be with you wherever you go.

(Matt 6:27) Who of you by worrying can add a single hour to his life?

(Ps 139:23/24) Search me, O God, and know my heart; test me and know my anxious thoughts. See if there is any offensive way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting.

(Gal 5.22/23) But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. Against such things there is no law.

(Phil4:8) Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable—if anything is excellent or praiseworthy —think about such things.

(Matt 3:17) And a voice from heaven said, “This is my Son, whom I love; with him I am well pleased.”

(2Cor 12.10) For when I am weak, then I am strong.

(Rom 8:18) I consider that our present sufferings are not worth comparing with the glory that will be revealed in us.

(2Thes 5:13-18). Live in peace with each other.  And we urge you, brothers, warn those who are idle, encourage the timid, help the weak, be patient with everyone. Make sure that nobody pays back wrong for wrong, but always try to be kind to each other and to everyone else. Be joyful always; pray continually;  give thanks in all circumstances, for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.
