As we sit here and wrestle with budget cuts and the way forward… I have to fall back on the above statement… Vision is everything. Even with budget cuts or a change in mission… if the leader has a clear vision of where he/she is going… you can still get there…and your leaders will follow you.
Vision is utterly indispensable. Vision leads the leaders—it designates targets, sparks and then fuels the fire, it draws leaders forward.
John Maxwell states… “Show me a leader without vision and I’ll show you someone who isn’t going anywhere…at best they are traveling in circles.”
He goes on to offer:
1) Vision starts within
2) Vision draws on your history
3) Vision meets other’s needs
4) Vision helps you GATHER RESOURCES
Vision acts like a magnet….attracting, challenging, and uniting people. The greater the vision, the more leaders and winners it has the potential to attract. The more challenging the vision, the harder your folks will strive and fight to achieve it.
